    German rights groups and politicians have slammed press restrictions at the upcoming Beijing Olympics as well as the International Olympic Committee's role in a row over Internet censorship for foreign reporters.
   International Olympic Committee (IOC) Chief Jacques Rogge was under mounting pressure on Sunday, Aug 3 after he appeared to renege on previous promises of unfettered Internet access for the thousands of foreign journalists heading to Beijing for the Olympic Games next week.
    In an article in German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, Poettering called on Olympic athletes to protest against human right violations in Tibet.
    Every athlete in Beijing should "look carefully at the situation and not look away," he wrote, adding each one could send a signal on Tibet in his or her own way.

    陈西先生于本月7日与廖双元、吴玉琴等前往瓮安对瓮安2.29事件进行民间调查，.结果在8日早上9：30，当他们在瓮安县医院调查时，被警方抓住遣送回贵阳，并被贵阳公安审问到当晚11点才放回，并且从此对他们进行软禁。据说他们将被控制到9月奥运后，再根据情况决定处理。
